      Hi, I’m Briane.

Yep, I said it. I take the boring out of Bible study.

If we are honest, many times Bible study can be a snooze, or just feel too challenging. It can also be confusing.

Do you sometimes read the Bible and say, “WHAT did that mean?” It’s 66 different books, different types of literature, written by different authors, to people thousands of years ago.

I understand! The Bible was written thousands of years ago in a very different culture, to very diiferent people. You are reading it through a modern worldview. You can’t help that- you live in the 21st century. But if you step back and learn to read the Bible with the eyes of an ancient Israelite, or a first century Jew or Roman, the Bible comes to life.

Biblical stories become richer. You are able discern God’s message to His original audience. And when that happens, your understanding of God’s Word and your relationship with Him are transformed. Bible study is never the same.

I love to study Biblical history, culture and languages. As I teach and write, I share the “behind the scenes” context that makes Bible passages come to life and helps you understand God’s message for you today.
